2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude- When I was younger I started
to play the saxophone in middle school.
This was the first time I had ever tried to play an instrument and I was
not that good. Learning how to play an
instrument was tough, reading music, playing notes, and other things associated
with playing an instrument. I wanted to
quit and do other things I enjoyed such as playing sports. However, I stuck with it and practiced very
hard. As I got older I practiced increasingly
and got better and better. One day it
hit me, my practice had paid off and I had finally become an adequate saxophone
player. This moment taught me that hard
work and dedication can pay off even through times of adversity and failure. Learning to play the saxophone was a process like
being an entrepreneur is a process. Over
these past two months I better understand that being an entrepreneur is a
process and it is important to not give up to be successful just like anything
else in life.
3) Three
tips- Tip #1 When brainstorming ideas for solving an unmet need, no idea is a
bad idea. I may be hard to come up with
ideas but take a step back and look at the bigger picture. There are so many little problems that could
be solved by entrepreneurs and the opportunities are endless. Tip #2 The entrepreneurship mindset is a
process. It may take time to figure out
how to think like an entrepreneur. Watching
the lectures in class and taking the assignments seriously can help guide you
to understand how to think and act like an entrepreneur. Tip #3 By taking this class you probably won’t
leave with a million-dollar business idea but instead the tools and knowledge to
guide in the right direction for the future.
Coming up with a million-dollar business idea takes time and is not
always simple. This class can help point
you in the right direction and if you are serious about becoming an
entrepreneur take all assignment seriously and absorb as much information as
possible. This involves taking the time
to write peer reviews and read the one’s people give you.
I think you give great advice in this post. I like how you said that no idea is a bad idea. While not all ideas are going to be huge money-makers, all of them can lead you to coming up with something great. It sounds like you are getting a lot of great skills from this class, and I agree that this class will definitely help me in the future. I also liked your story about the saxophone. That is a really unique talent and it sounds like you learned a lot from that experience, as well.
ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteI really like how you started off your reflection. There are so many needs that I had never noticed before. This class really has made me look at life differently.I really liked your first tip that no idea is a bad idea. That is very true, unless you test out an idea you will never know whether it would ever work. Honestly, all of your tips were really good. This was an excellent post overall.
I love how you keep repeating that no idea is a bad idea and that each annoying problem in life is just an opportunity for an entrepreneur. Throughout the class my output on the annoyances in life have changed and now instead of just being completely annoyed by the nuisances I start to see the potential for a business to grow. It sounds like you are learning a lot from this class and I thought the post was great.
ReplyDeleteI think your reflection and advice is great. I like how you learned to think like an entrepreneur in that things that bother us are simply unmet needs. I believe your advice will be useful to future students, especially the one regarding no idea being a bad one. It is important that future students enter this course with an open mind and work around constructive criticism, rather than block it out.
ReplyDeleteHey Max,
ReplyDeleteI seemed to agree with a lot of points that you made on your post but the one that especially stood out was the first tip you gave. I completely agree that no idea is a bad idea. Even if at first you come up with ideas that are not the best, they can ultimately help lead you to your final idea. Great post!
